Melanie A Glass

Melanie Glass was born and raised in Harrisburg PA by her late parents Charles and Carrie Glass. Her father served in World War II, worked for the US Postal Service for 35 years and owned Real Estate. Her mother worked for the State for 25 years, was a Ceramist and owned an Art Studio. Her parents did all this while raising six children and being heavily involved with their local Baptist Church.
Melanie was married for 30 years, she is a mother of three adult children Ashley, William & Evan and Mimi to three beautiful grandchildren.  She worked in Corporate America for 20 years and is a Veteran who served six years in the PA & CA Air National Guard. 
Melanie's naturally gifted talent began at a young age. You could often find her doodling or sketching animation characters.  However, as she matured she put away what she thought were her childish things.
In 2003 while working as an Operations Manager for FedEx she suffered a life changing event. It caused her to reexamine her life purpose. She began writing and drawing illustrations. This led her to take formal Art Classes and creating a large body of work. She decided to name her Art studio B AWESUM.  The name became her mantra. 
In 2014 she was selected the Artist of the year for the Harrisburg YWCA and had her first professional Art Exhibit showing 30 pieces of original Artwork.
After moving to Fresno in 2017 she wanted to get involved in the Art Community. She reviewed the Fresno Arts Council's website to find a venue that might display her work. That venue was River Park Shopping Center. 
Today, Melanie is the proud CEO and Founder of B AWESUM.
B AWESUM takes dull, gloomy vacant buildings or designated areas and transforms them into vibrant positive Creative Spaces. She then gives Visual & Performance Artists, Creatives and our Community an opportunity to EXPRESS, EXPLORE and EXPERIENCE the Arts.
Thanks to her collaboration with Steven Baronian, with Lance-Kashian Company, we've transformed a vacant Retail Space into River Park's Art Groove Gallery. Our 5th Non-Traditional Gallery is located at River Park Shopping Center, 7786 N Blackstone Avenue, Fresno CA 93720. B AWESUM curates and manages this beautiful space that houses over 25+ diverse phenomenal local Visual Artists. 
B AWESUM is also the Arts Program Manager for the Fresno Metropolitan Black Chamber of Commerce,1600 Fulton Street, Fresno CA 93721. She is honored to have been selected to oversee two Arts Grants awarded to the Chamber by the California Arts Council. In addition, she selects quarterly Featured Artists and organizes 1st Thursday ArtHop Events.
Her Creative Journey has led her to work with many extraordinary people and organizations.

I am Melanie Glass, proud owner and Founder of B AWESUM, Creative and Mix Media Abstract Artist.
In the past I used ART as an outlet. During this period I experienced difficult times. However, I was able to cope by escaping into painting for hours and sometimes days. When I returned to my problem I had CLARITY. It allowed me to resolve my issue and move forward.

Through my art I hope to share a little bit of my soul, render a positive message, bring awareness to certain topics and brighten your day.
