"The Chair" series was made in Fresno, California. The chair featured in each of the 5 images is a piece of abandoned furniture found on the corner of Huntington and Clovis Avenues. As a functional piece of furniture, the chair presents an opportunity to interact with the neighborhood families in a manner and environment not seen and perhaps not considered by the traffic passing by. My hope is to invite a reimagining of the classic family portrait and to question that particular genre.
