Sankofa is word from the Twi language of Ghana which translates as "It is not wrong to go back to what you have forgotten". Much of my work reflects my interest in exploring and sharing stories reflective of the African Diaspora. As she is looking into the future she is selecting on her past. The body of this fiber collage art work is created with African textiles applied directly to a canvas background.
