This work is a mixed media made in tandem with this short poem. This piece is an ode to vulnerability in the face of heartache and recognizing the weight of grief and processing the emotions attached to a bond that was idly made.
“My like existed outside of the things I would want you to judge; my wholeness is lost in the very same. I am not me without my who, what, when, where and why. To appreciate my personhood in aspect is to adore my fullness, fully.
meeting the parts of who I am in stride, with care, concern and compassion, my love is no fixed income to be calculated, a material amount no greater than the sum of its data. With a fickle mind, you tasted the energy that creates worlds and your words turned to ashes in your mouth.”
This piece was made with acrylic paint, canvas cut-outs, paper, acrylic, ink and gold varnish.
